Dream team

Audi Sport has succeeded in recruiting three illustrious driver teams for the Dakar Rally: Mattias Ekström/Emil Bergkvist, Stéphane Peterhansel/Edouard Boulanger and Carlos Sainz/Lucas Cruz. Audi is the first car manufacturer to fight for overall victory in the famous Dakar Rally with an electrified powertrain, thus also heralding an energy revolution in cross-country rallying.

An old friend of Audi Sport, Mattias Ekström, is regarded as one of the most versatile drivers with two DTM titles and also becoming the World Rallycross champion. His co-driver is former rally driver Emil Bergkvist, forming a Swedish duo with Ekström.

Mister Dakar, Stéphane Peterhansel, is a living legend in his sport, having won the Dakar Rally 14 times. Edouard Boulanger, former off-road motorcyclist and trained engineer, sits alongside Peterhansel. The French duo won the Dakar Rally at their first attempt as a driver crew in 2021.
